Namanga Islamic Orphanage Center

Since 1992, we've provided a loving home and quality education to 130 orphans at the Kenya-Tanzania border. Our holistic approach combines Islamic upbringing with academic excellence to nurture future leaders of the Ummah.

OUR MISSION

To raise pious, educated orphans who will contribute positively to society

A HOME FOR THE PARENTLESS

We shelter children aged 6-16 who have lost both parents or come from families too poor to care for them. Many face risks of child labor or early marriage without our intervention.

Our History

Founded in 1992 by local Muslim leaders with great help from the Al-Haramain Fundation, we began with just just a few orphans. Through community support, we've produced more than a thousand responsible citizens and scholars, among them leaders. We are currently caring for 130 children in our own facility.

Daily Life

Children wake for Fajr prayer followed by Quran revision. After breakfast, they attend secular school from 8am-1:45pm, then Islamic studies until 3:45pm followed by Quran studies until Maghrib. Evenings include homework, recreation and spiritual mentoring.
